To believe that the work you do should be motivated by an ideal, may appear to be idealistic, especially if you are a comparatively unimportant person in a large organisation. Does it matter to you how you do your work, or do you neglect an unimportant job because you think that no one will notice or, perhaps you feel insignificant and hopelessly inadequate?
If this is the trend of your thinking you are doing yourself a grave disservice, for you are denying yourself the power of positive living and the satisfaction of constructive work. Life can only have meaning when you give the best you can to every task that is yours to do. However humble and unimportant the work may be, do it to God’s glory. You will soon discover that life has a very positive meaning.
1 Peter 4:11 - If anyone speaks, let him speak as the oracles of God. If anyone ministers, let him do it as with the ability which God supplies, that in all things God may be glorified through Jesus Christ, to whom belong the glory and the dominion forever and ever.
Prayer: Lord, as I do my daily work to Your Glory, may my life take on deeper meaning and a renewed purpose.
