Fear Not

The most debilitating emotion is fear.  Its human to be afraid when faced with danger.  How is it possible to eradicate it at best or manage it at least.

The Lord will not ask us to do something that He knows we are unable to do.  The fact that the phrase “Fear not” was part of our Lord’s vocabulary when addressing His followers implies that fear can be and should be managed.

Fear is the result of danger that may be real or imagined.  If the danger is real help to deal with the danger is necessary.  Take action, call a friend or a neighbour or someone who you know will be by your side to help face the danger.  Don’t underestimate the power of prayer. Too often we are afraid of perceived danger which causes our emotions to spiral out of control into fits of panic and anxiety.  Intrusive thoughts that slip into our minds are often the culprits that bring fear.

When the Lord says, “Fear not, for I am with you,” it’s an assurance He give that when we face the trials and tests of life we need to be conscious of His presence even when faced with danger.  Remember that there are some difficult times when all seems lost, futile, hopeless and miserable, at such times.  Allow your thoughts to be diverted from the problem to the soul solution, the Saviour, the Spirit who resides in you will lift the fear and give you an overwhelming sense of peace and contentment.  When storms come remember who stands by your side, never leave nor forsakes you.  Is it possible to conquer fear?  Perfect love casts out all fear.

God loves you.  Be not afraid.

John 4:18 “for you have had five husbands, and the one whom you now have is not your husband; in that you spoke truly.”
