Anxious Times

We live in anxious times. Worry can be debilitating and may paralyse our faith.  Too often we allow circumstances to overwhelm us and we are inclined to see a problem bigger than what it is.

Perspective helps us to recognise that despite the problem or storm, our God is bigger than the problem and greater than the storm.  Believers often seek ungodly counsel on matters of the soul and mind.

We assume that the storm will consume us.  Assumptions have the tendency to think of the worst outcome.  Refocus your thoughts on the fact that the Lord Jesus, by His Spirit, is with you in the storm and if you believe He is with you, why should you fear.

What should we do when we face anxious times?  Look to the Lord and change that which is in your control and trust Him to control that which you have no control over.  God’s Divine Presence is far bigger than your circumstances.

Matthew 6:34 - Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about its own things. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble.

Prayer: Lord, despite the threatening storm I take comfort in the knowledge that You are with me.
