Your motor car without fuel in the tank won’t go very far. Running out of petrol and being stranded without wheels is one of the most frustrating situations in life. Despite the fuel gauge needle on “E” you pushed the limit and your car came to an abrupt halt. You regret not stopping when you should have at the station to fill up. Most people only run out of petrol once in their life and dread a reoccurrence of such an inconvenience and the lesson is learnt. When the needle is on “E” it does not mean “enough” , it means empty! If you continue to ignore the needle reading, you have to get used to walking.
As a Believer, your daily reading of the Bible enables you to determine what’s in your Spiritual tank. We are reminded to be filled with God’s Spirit so that we can progress and succeed on the journey of life. Although every Christian has the indwelling presence of the Holy Spirit, not all Believers see the need to be filled with the Spirit. The word “filled” simply means influence. The Lord’s blessing is available to you, He wants to influence or fill you with His inspiration and goodness. This daily filling will help you to enjoy the ride!
Prayer: Lord, I know that your Spirit lives in me. Help me to become more aware of your influence in my life. Amen.
