Letter to the Herald
With SONA scheduled for the 13 February and the EFF’s threat to disrupt the occasion, it was refreshing to view the decorum and conduct on display when President Putin addressed the Russian assembly of law makers recently. The attendees were well-groomed, dignified and respectful, this despite holding to an opposing view. Good manners maketh a man. With our country facing a bleak future it’s incumbent of our politicians to seek a mutual resolution to the issues we face. Although Western democracy is viewed as the ideal system of governance and rule, the so-called champions of democracy have compromised the system. The UK and USA, being prime examples. Putin’s call for a change in Russia’s constitution and the subsequent resignation of his Prime Minister Dimitry Medvedev and the entire government, seems to have been engineered to bring about sweeping changes that will make Russia appear more democratic and principled. For the few who have dedicated their time and energy to Eschatology (study of future world events), will know that Russia will play a leading role in invading modern Israel and will mobilise Israel’s arch-enemies, Iran, Syria, Lebanon, Libya, Turkey and some Northern African powers in its objective to plunder the wealth of Israel. When this happens the USA and UK (Western powers), most likely, will not come to Israel’s defence. Putin’s new proposed military policy is that Russia will not seek to disrupt any country, unless such a country is a threat to global peace and stability and act contrary to the new Russian constitution. Are we the generation to witness the hungry bear and her cubs attack Israel? The ancient Hebrew seer, Ezekiel, predicted such an event with the outcome favouring Israel leading to the defeat of Russia and the demise of Islam (it will take seven months to bury the fallen). In comparison the problems we face is South Africa will seem inconsequential. Our region, at the Southern tip of Africa, may be the safest place on earth if a nuclear war were to occur. Let’s be thankful for what we have. The worst calamity for the world is yet to come. I’m staying.
