Hypocrisy reigns as West controls war narrative If Ukraine should become a member of Nato, the US/Nato alliance would have a military base only 10 minutes from Moscow ’ The old but pertinent adage that truth is the first casualty of war is worth remembering in light of current events.
The mass media, owned mainly by the West, continues to pepper the uninformed public with biased reporting and propaganda. The masses seem confused as to who to trust.
The invasion of Ukraine by Russia needs to be condemned, but at the same time we need to expose the hypocrisy of the US. Barack Obama, George Bush and Bill Clinton, as former US presidents combined, invaded nine countries, which cost 11-million lives. Since World War 2, the US is responsible for 81% of the wars launched during this period.
The audacity to accuse Vladimir Putin of war crimes while Western leaders have carried out similar, if not worse, atrocities smacks of double standards. Ukraine and the West are having a field day in winning the propaganda war. Is free speech only permissible when one agrees with them? The closing of all Russian media platforms is a case in point.
While I hold no brief for Russia, the US or Nato, my understanding of geopolitics and global forces is formulated by my Biblical world view. How can the world be silent about Ukraine’s hostility towards the citizens of Luhansk and Donetsk? Neither have they been held accountable for the Ukrainian insurgent armies in the massacres that took place in 1943 in Volhynia.
Many of the Polish victims, regardless of age or gender, were tortured before being killed.
More than 50,000 people were massacred. This was an attempt at ethnic cleansing. Despite the historical record, Polish citizens are to be commended for their humanity and generous warmth shown to the refugees pouring into Poland.
The Western world has been mum about Ukrainian atrocities. Putin’s initial rationale seemed reasonable: Nato violated the agreement not to expand towards the East; his argument in terms of Russia’s safety and security concerns were realistic. If Ukraine should become a
member of Nato, the US/Nato alliance would have a military base only 10 minutes from Moscow.
Would the US be comfortable if Russia had a military base in Mexico? The US has 750 military bases in 80 countries, and Russia is being viewed as the pariah and threat to world peace? Putin’s historic narrative and Ukraine’s sympathy with Nazi Germany during the war is not without significance.
The rise of nationalism and neo-Nazism in Ukraine and many European countries should not be ignored. President Volodymyr Zelenskyy of Ukraine is the new hero and Putin the villain. It ’s grossly imprudent of the West to seek Russia’s demise and attempt to eliminate Putin.
A bear is more dangerous and desperate when cornered. The sanctions against Russia will drive them to an alliance with rogue nations like China and North Korea. It is a truism that “my enemy’s enemy is my friend”. The Sino-Dragon is lurking in the shallow waters of the conflict and, if given the opportunity, will breathe its destructive fire on the world.
Will the US cease to be a world power and is Russia destined to be the polecat of the world? Bible prophecy contained in Ezekiel, the Hebrew seer, predicted that Russia in the last days will mobilise Persia (Iran), Syria, Turkey and Libya, among others, to attack Israel. How interesting that Russia’s gas pipeline is under threat and Israel now boasts of oil-rich potential in its region. Is World War 3 inevitable?
Yes, but not now. The destiny of nations and their over-reliance on nuclear power may result in their final elimination. Albert Einstein is quoted as having said: “I know not with what weapons World War 3 will be fought, but World War 4 will be fought with sticks and stones. ” By this he meant the unleashing of nuclear warfare.
God forbid that this will happen in our lifetime. The outcome is too ghastly to contemplate. Whoever controls the narrative determines the facts. Let ’s pray for innocent civilians caught in the web of “men’s diabolical egos and devilish agendas”. The only hope for our depraved world is a return to the creator ’s plan of equity and justice for all. Let us pray for peace and stability in the prevailing chaos.
